VX1000 & VX2100 Camera Settings by Beagel

How To: VX1000 Filming Tips with Beagle - In Focus (Part 2 of 2)

  1. Clean up the lens from the camera and any additional lens
  2. Turn on the camera
    1. VX1000:
      1. Turn the power dial to Camera (left side camera)
      2. Set it to standby (right side camera)
    2. VX2100:
      1. Set the power to Camera (right side camera)
  3. Set Hold / Auto lock selector to the center (auto lock release) position
  4. Turn on and set Custom settings
    1. VX1000:
      1. Open the backdoor
      2. Click on menu > Scroll down to 'Custom' > Set to ON
      3. Set Colour lvl and Sharpness (max -1), White balance can also be set to max
    2. VX2100:
      1. Click on the Custom Preset button on the back of the handle
      2. Using the scroll wheel you can turn it on and set the Colour lvl and Sharpness (max -1), White balance can also be set to max
  5. Shutter speed
    1. Sun closeby: High SS (> 1000)
    2. Evening / when its darker: Low SS (90 <)
  6. Exposure
  7. White Balance (try to get blue sky and golden ground)
    1. Click the white balance button, it should start flashing on screen
    2. Aim towards concrete or something white
    3. Set the white balance by clicking on the btn under it (VX1000) or clicking on the scrollwheel (VX2100)
  8. Focus
    1. By default auto focus should be enough (use the push auto to force focus if needed)
    2. In some situations you can use Manual focus if theres not
  9. Turn off steady shot when using a Fisheye, to prevent vignette movement
    1. VX1000:
      1. Open backdoor
      2. Turn of the St
    2. VX2100:
      1. Click on menu button
      2. Scroll one down to 'Camera settings'
      3. Go in there and turn of Steadyshot
